Malaysia Technology Entrepreneur Programme (MTEP)

The Malaysia Tech Entrepreneur Programme (MTEP) is a government initiative aimed at attracting talented tech entrepreneurs (including founders and co-founders) from across the globe. It provides support and resources to assist them in establishing and growing their startups in Malaysia.

New Entrepreneur

A new founder or foreign entrepreneur with a tech business idea and no history of an established business.
It will be granted a 1-year pass – Professional Visit Pass (renewable upon first-year achievement).

Established Entrepreneur

Experienced Tech Entrepreneur

Foreign entrepreneur or founder with more than 2 years of proven experience in running an established business.
It will be granted a 5-year pass – Residence Pass.

Tech Investor

For founders, co-founders, or Malaysian Venture Partners with a minimum of RM10 million in funds.
Must be registered with the Securities Commission Malaysia as a Venture Capital Management Corporation (VCMC)
It will be granted a 5-year pass – Residence Pass.
