New and improved MM2H: Platinum, gold, and silver categories introduced

Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has announced a relaxation of the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme, introducing three new categories and opening eligibility to applicants aged 30 and above. Applications must now go exclusively through MM2H agents licensed by MOTAC under the Tourism Industry Act 1992.

The programme is now split into three tiers — Platinum, Gold and Silver — each with its own requirements:

Platinum

  • Fixed deposit: RM5 million (US$1.05 million)
  • Withdrawal: up to 50% after one year, for property worth RM1.5 million or more, healthcare, or tourism spending
  • Residency requirement: at least 60 days a year cumulatively (for applicants aged 30-49, this may be fulfilled by the principal, partner, or dependents)
  • Permanent Residence: Platinum pass holders may apply for PR status

Gold

  • Fixed deposit: RM2 million (US$420,800)
  • Withdrawal: up to 50% after one year, for property worth RM750,000 or more, healthcare, or tourism spending
  • Residency requirement: at least 60 days a year cumulatively (same age-30-49 flexibility as above)
  • Pass validity: 15 years, renewable, with Multiple Entry Visas for principal and dependents

Silver

  • Fixed deposit: RM500,000 (US$105,000)
  • Withdrawal: up to 50% after one year, for property worth RM750,000 or more, healthcare, or tourism spending
  • Residency requirement: at least 60 days a year cumulatively (same age-30-49 flexibility as above)
  • Pass validity: five years, renewable, with Multiple Entry Visas for principal and dependents
